NOTICE: Chapter Event registration cancellations received 10 or more days before the Chapter Monthly Meetings or Events will be refunded. Cancellations received 5-10 days before the Chapter Monthly Event will receive a credit of the exact dollar amount towards another chapter event within the same calendar year. Alternatively, we will allow a one-time registration transfer to another individual at the same membership status at no charge. If a price difference exists due to a price difference between events or different membership statuses between transferred attendees, the attendee or new attendee is responsible to pay the difference.  Registration cancellations are non-refundable and nontransferable within 5 days of the event. All cancellation requests must be in writing. Send your cancellation requests to Admin@pbcshrm.org. This policy does not apply to the Annual Conference.

    Proactive, Not Reactive: A Holistic Approach to Mental Health

    Learning Objectives:  

    • Identify Key Indicators of Employee Mental Health Issues: Understand the early signs of mental health challenges and learn how to recognize them before they escalate into larger problems. 
    • Develop Proactive Mental Health Strategies: Explore effective strategies for creating a supportive workplace, including mental health education, employee assistance programs, and stress management initiatives. 

    • Foster a Culture of Support and Well-being: Learn how to build an organizational culture that prioritizes employee mental health, encouraging open communication, destigmatization, and providing the necessary resources for employees to thrive. 

    Speaker’s Bio:  

    Alisha W. Singh is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Mental Health Interns (QS-RMHI), and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. She earned her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Alisha is a Certified MBTI® Practitioner and Mental Health First Aid® Facilitator, with a strong background in human resources through her work with various state and local government agencies. 

    In addition to maintaining a private counseling practice, Alisha provides consulting services focused on employee professional development, workplace wellness, and organizational effectiveness. She is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). 

    Alisha also serves on the advisory committee for Lynn University’s Crisis, Resilience, and First Responder Trauma Training Advisory Committee (CRAFT-AC), supporting trauma-focused training for first responders.

    Have the Hard Conversation: Navigating the Interactions You’d Rather Avoid

    Learning Objectives:  

    • Learn a strategic-communication framework for initiating and navigating hard conversations in the workplace
    • Identify common barriers to honest communication and explore tactics to move into productive dialogue
    • Develop confidence in handling sensitive topics (such as feedback, boundaries, discrimination, terminations) by using techniques from negotiation, journalism, chaplaincy, and interpersonal communication

    Speakers Bio: 

    From newsrooms to boardrooms, Heather has held titles in some of the most fast-paced, high-pressure industries: television news anchor, corporate negotiator, and business strategist. Shes spent her career developing techniques to communicate strategically, earn trust quickly, and lead conversations that drive results. Now, she teaches others to do the same.

    Heather draws from her extensive experience in journalism and leadership to deliver practical training on soft skills that shape workplace culture and develop individual success. Her sessions leave every audience feeling inspired and equipped to own their unique competitive edge.
