Join us for our next Lunch Webinar on Tuesday, April 30 from 12pm–1pm (check‑in opens at 11:45am) and earn 1 PDC while learning the real truth behind background checks.

    Webinar Topic:

The Myth of the Nationwide Background Check: Risks, Limits, and Realities HR Professionals Need to Know

Many HR professionals select background check packages with a quick checkbox—without fully understanding what searches and verifications are actually included. This session cuts through the jargon to demystify background screening terminology and reveal what’s truly happening “under the hood.”

You’ll walk away with a clear understanding of data sources, reliability differences, and how to ensure your screening process actually aligns with job role risk, compliance requirements, and organizational needs.

    Learning Objectives:

After this session, attendees will be able to:
    • Explain common screening terminology—and why a true “nationwide” criminal search does not exist
    • Differentiate between types of criminal searches, verifications, and credential checks
    • Identify gaps in standard background screening packages
    • Apply strategic evaluation questions to assess your current screening provider and processes

    Meet the Speaker: Zulay Moreno

    COO, SRA Screening
Zulay is a private investigator and background screening professional with over 15 years of experience helping organizations understand screening products, compliance requirements, and best practices. She brings a real‑world investigative lens to criminal searches, employment and education verifications, credential checks, due diligence, and emerging regulatory standards.

Her mission: equip HR professionals with the clarity and confidence needed to make informed, compliant hiring decisions.

    Event Details:

    Date: Tuesday, April 30
    Time: 12:00pm–1:00pm (check-in at 11:45am)
